have been riding my Nomad 2 for about 3 weeks now, with the Push link attached - thought some of you may like to know how it feels and works:

This is the best upgrade I have EVER made to ANY bike, the ride is now superbly plush, the rear wheel tracks every bump and indentation, it now feels almost like my Ancilloti DH rig.

When climbing seated there is very little difference infact it seems to dig in better on techy climbs with better traction, I rarely climb out of the seat and there would be a noticeable amount of "Bob" if I did - but hey no problem, that's not what this bike is about 😉

I recommend this upgrade to any of you that have a Coil Nomad 2 (it does not work with Air shocks), they are not available in the UK.

I have a contact in the US who will ship them over for you - let me know!

Would it fit the mark1?

And there must be a downside or SC would have done it in the first place - does it affect pedaling?

"Not true cyclelife , We have 2 on the shelf"

When I phoned you about 6 weeks ago, you knew nothing about them??
Push also stated that they did not sell sell them outside the States or Canada?

That's obviously changed - sorry!

Now what Push tune do I need for my DHX 5 then?

Afaik the mark 2 was designed to be used with a air shock. It improved it's climbing but it lost some of its descending capabilities. The push link turns it back to a more descending bias. As said above it still pedals well if you sit down and spin rather than stand and mash. It's only designed around the coil shock though. Plenty of take about it here :

I have the 2011 SC Nomad (Carbon) with DHXRC4 coil and the climbing is great as well as descending. The DHX4 shock is highly adjustable and there is very little "bob" and the whole package seems superb. I do not think to changing the linkage is worth it for me , surely SC would have done that if needed? Is it a DHX RC4 or DHX 5 shock you are using?

The boss of Push rides a Carbon Nomad and designed the new link to make the bike work with a coil shock, as I understand it the Nomad 2 was designed around an air shock.

I ride a DHX 5 Coil and the difference is amazing! best £150 you could ever spend on your Nomad.

Ok, Update!

Spent the weekend at CyB the bike does not perform at all well on the climbs compared to the original link. The bike sits more into it's travel therefore the front end is a lot lighter and is difficult to keep on the ground.

Oh well, I'll just have to swop the linkage back for general riding.

Ahh well, at least your honest rather than just justifying it on the grounds of having paid for it!

Well that's what a forums all about isn't it?

It's brilliant on the descents though - far superior to the original.

In fairness, that's kinda the point of it though...

Thanks for your review too cycle life. I do understand the DHXRC4 is a bit plusher than the DHX5 in standard form. What might be a good option is getting TF Tuned or Mojo to tune the rear shock for you?... They could sort it for Plush DH with more pedal platform for climbs.

In terms of suspension action etc I had a real good look at other long travel all rounders before deciding on the Nomad. You will find the space on the frame for the shock much bigger than for the Spec Enduro. This means the shock on the Nomad can have a longer stroke hence more plushness with less heavy spring needed. The Spec Enduro Evo with its shorter stroke shock needs a 500lb + spring for most riders.
