I worked on a TV show involving him as a contributor. Production were awful, unscheduled 20+ hour days, no food or water for the staff on the ground etc. Noel was the one sorting out extra food for everyone, going out of his way to make sure he made things as easy as possible for the production staff having to pick up the pieces etc.
And this was a job that he'd been sold a pup on. The show was absolutely nothing like what was promised. It was supposed to be a car rally in race prep'd classic cars (he's a massive car/motorsport nut), in reality it was a travel show a week late for the start of the rally!
Doesn't mean he doesn't have a hatred of people on bikes, but I think the above comments a bit unfair.

there are no rights of way in NZ. all that beautiful rolling country and it's fenced off by multinational dairy conglomerates. be grateful for the UK and its amazing network.

Back in the late 1970's he came to a local charity football match along with some other 'big headed slebs'. In front of the crowd who were mostly children, he hit a girl. It really shocked me and it left a nasty memory.
Lots of 'petrol head slebs' seem to really dislike people who cycle.
