Currently in Sicily.
Google maps does not have the cycling option for route planning.
Any alternatives please?

Anything that uses OpenCycleMap? Which is most online planners. RideWithGPS is my choice, there are others.

I used Komoot on my summer trip to Italy which worked really well.

Komoot does the job Thx.
The voice instructions are not perfect but does a reasonable job at choosing a route.
