Anyone run a 2 ring set up with no bash?
If so did you just use single ring chainring bolts?

I did, made up some alloy washers and used my existing bolts.
Occasionally dropped the chain off, so I got a BBG bash guard for a tenner.

FWIW, I was using an SLX double mech and still dropped the chain. Might work better if you have an unramped chainring.

yes and yes. to not drop the chain does take some fiddling the front mech but it is achievable.
