I shall be working in New Zealand for a year doing agricultural fencing with a contractor. I believe I may need some health insurance, could someone give us a hand on what insurance to go for

IIRC, you are covered for any health expenses due to an accident by ACC (Accident Compensation Corporation) as long as your employer pays their subs. You will pay for other healthcare as you need it in the same way as Kiwis, when I left the country there were 3 tranches based on earnings, but that's quite old info now.

The UK has a reciprocal health agreement with NZ I think. More here:

When I go home I just see my mother's private doc, he helpfully writes me up under her file, which is nice.
