Finally finished building this the other day and took it for a spin yesterday, really pleased with it. May not be everyone's choice but hey everyone's different.

very nice commuter!

I built a commuter specific bike up a few days ago, mainly from the spares bin, with one or two new items (7 speed shifter, 7 speed cassette, bb), and I love it.

It's an absolute rat of a bike though. LOTS of bodges to get the mudguards to fit (new holes drilled, light mount used on the fork to mount a leg of the guard, disc mount used on the other side!).

Love new bikes ๐Ÿ™‚ even old new bikes!

How do you fined the frame/fork younggeoff? The road.cc review was marked down because of its dreary steering, wondering if as a mountain biker I would "get" its feel?

Its the only thing stopping me ordering one tbh.

maxray - steering definately isn't as quick as my Kenisis Evo was or my road bike is, first few miles it did feel a bit sluggish but soon got used to it, took it along some singletrack and it was plenty quick enough and really good fun, commuted in this morning and it weaved thru traffic with ease.

hmm interesting cheers, you have an Evo4 aswell? I really liked the look of that, just the lack of discs option going against it... decisions decisions..

Had an EVO 2 only got rid as I wanted a disked up commuter, shame as it was a nice frame to ride
