2018 one now comes in a bike packing version, a complete contrast to that rad looking 9.8. It is a bike that covers a real range of riding styles, from a really tough hardcore hardtail to a serious nichemonger bike.

Does that bike really need a dropper?
What do we reckon the maximum fork travel is on these? I've just ordered a set of Revelations - I slung the front wheel off my Stache into a mate's 29" boost 2018 Revs and it fits nicely, and I fancy a bit of extra travel.
The Revs I've bought are 150mm, which is clearly too much so I need to buy a new air shaft. I'd like it to be fairly burly so what do we reckon - I know people run them at 140mm with 650b? That sounds pretty lairy, and it's only 20mm more than stock. That sounds like a real laugh, and it'd slacken the headangle off by a degree. Or is 130mm the safe bet?
With what size wheels?
Doing that might sort my current bicycle related thoughts out. Might look into some 29er Pikes or similar for my rigid 5 to give me something different to ride without buying a full new bike. I'd probably look at running them at 120mm with 2.3" 29er tyres front and rear.
It'd be with 29x3.0s. I know the Full Stache has 130mm but a burly hardtail with 140mm and the massive tyres sounds really exciting.
I have also picked up a set of normal 29" wheels that I intend to run in winter, and obviously 140mm would be fine with them.
Looks like the A2C on the Revs at 140mm is lower than that on the Magnums at 110mm (as the stanchion length on the 110mm Magnums is the same as the 120mms, they've just been spaced out internally) so it could all work.
As an aside, I had a blast round the Peak on a borrowed Full Stache the other day. What an absolute lunatic bike, just flattens everything in its path with utter disdain. No feedback, no finesse, no pop, but if you don't want to think about line choice, ever, it's an excellent call. It made my Sonder Transmitter feel like a BMX.
And further thoughts have me thinking about a fork that could do both. I'll have to do some research as I've no idea what forks will take 29+. Clearly a Revelation ;0)
That was easy. Pike 29+ will fit a 2.8.
Mind you I'll need a new front wheel as mine are all non boost as the rigid forks were 100mm.
That would tick a lot of boxes and I could build a wheel that could take an XC 2.3 tyre to a 2.8.
Fingers crossed the 3" Chupa (XR2) will fit in them too.
I'm running the non-boost Stache 5 front wheel in the boost Magnums with an adaptor. It only cost a tenner.
If you need a set of suspension forks then my Magnums are for sale.
And you're not using them because...
I've not looked into adaptors yet.

It was genuinely, laugh out loud, bonkers. Like a monster truck or something. No real subtlety to it, but it just rolls over everything downhill and up as long as you can turn the pedals anyway. I can't imagine ever buying one, but I can kind of see the attraction. Looks great as well in a Tonka Toy stylee.

I've stuck a 150mm Revelation on mine, which I may reduce the travel of but the A2C is about the same as the Magnums so I may leave it as it is. It's very rowdy now. I've upgraded a few bits along the way - alloy bars replaced with carbon Easton bars, brakes upgraded from Elixir Trail 7s to Elixir XXs, saddle swapped from a Fizik Nisene to a 110g San Marco Concor and the cranks from XTs to Race Face Nexts. It's now 25.5lbs, so it's got more travel AND it's lighter so it's a real hoot.
The idea behind lopping some weight off is that I'm hoping to do some XC racing next year and this is the bike I've got that's most suited to it. I've acquired a set of 29er wheels for it, which get weight around 24lbs, for racing on.
The new Revs take the 3" tyres nicely - they're the standard 29" boost ones, not a 29+ chassis which may open up fork options for those looking into it. The new 2018 Revs and Pikes in 29" boost will work.
If anyone wants to add some bounce to theirs the Magnums are in the classifieds.
I've got some magnums on mine set at 120mm. From what I seem to get from the instructions you can change them to 140mm by removing some spacers or something? Don't suppose anyone has tried this - is it an easy DIY job or a load of faff/better to drop off at a mechanics?
The 29plus Manitou Magnum Pro forks I had were bonkers.
Veery tactile, easily some of the nicest feeling forks I've come across.
The down side is they are so tall.
My 120mm forks were easily the AtoC length of a 140mm std 29er fork 560mm atoc IIRC - A lot higher/longer than I wanted or needed.
I replaced them with some 100mm 29 plus Yaris. Not as nice to play with dials wise but a fair bit shorter AtoC relative travel wise. IMHO easier to change the travel on too.
My Yaris will comfortably take a 3'' tyre (Minion or Knard) on a 52mm rim.
