I'm replacing cassette, chain and chainrings (maybe just inner & middle depending whether the outer skips with the new chain...) Currently wearing out a Deore M590 chainset with a recently replaced bottom bracket. I want to Stick with 9 speed and am on a bit of a budget (but ideally don't want total rubbish...!)
So, am I best to buy a full new (Deore) chainset and sell on the BB and cranks? (as that looks cheaper than separate rings and SLX seems a bit spendy?) or, if going for separate chainrings do they need to be specific to the M590 cranks or is there better available for not much more cash?

Rosebikes tend to do pretty cheap chainrings
18 quid for both granny and middle rings, 15 quid for a cassette and whatever chain for 10. CRC is not that far off Rosebikes for budget stuff. Any Shimano rings will fit and I'd just replace them. You'll prolly be OK leaving the big ring as is.
