Setup: current generation XTR triple, with the middle and big ring rings swapped for a 36T (XT) and a bash guard. The middle ring has been ok (although i'd be interested to hear of hard wearing alternatives). However, the stock XTR granny has not lasted well at all. It has a non-standard offset, so I'd need to shim a (Deore for example) steel granny? Anyone had success with this? Any off the shelf alternative that don't need shims? Probably going 10speed in the near future.
