I've just bought but not ridden a Gore Path. It's smart enough to wear in the street, the large fits we well (I'm a medium bloke with big shoulders), minimalist (no hood or pit zips), and rolls down small enough to fit in my bum bag with other kit.

I wouldn't take it somewhere proper wild eg the Lakes or Snowdon on a real bad weather day, but I think it will be fine as a general purpose bad weather shell. It looks well made with a proper zippable-while-riding zip. (I had the zip fail on 2 Montane Velocities, so no more Montane for me).

I find with breathable waterproofs the reality is I always get a bit wet, be it from the inside, or from the outside in. There's no 100% solution.

I bought it in Evans (£160 price matched down to £127 via Wiggle), the alternative was an Endura that was more technical with pit zips and so on, that's useful but adds a lot to the bulk... then you're into carrying a Camelback to carry it and the whole package escalates.

Here you go: http://www.bikeradar.com/gear/category/clothing/jackets/product/review-gore-path-ii-jacket-11-44390

I think mine is 'Path' not 'Path 2', not sure the difference, GoreTex vs Paclite possibly. Or maybe mine is Path 2.

Mine's black, not ideal for road riding but I bought it for MTB so not bothered. Also in black it's a bit more street-wearable. And it's what was on the rack!

The Path is 275 grams according to my kitchen scales.
