My Talas have been written off - stantion wear, oil leaking and wierd clunking. I don't fancy the £250 for new uppers + service, given that I only bought them for £200. 🙁

My Hope bulb hub is currently QR, but looks like conversion kits are available for 20mm/maxle, and possibly for 15mm?

CRC have these DT Swiss EXC 150mm for £400, which seems quite bargainous. Don't see them much out on the trails; are they any good? I definitely want something with travel adjust for climbing and road riding. These will work with my QR.

Otherwise, what might be a good option around the £400 mark? RS Pikes? The 20mm conversion for Hope bulbs looks pretty simple.

Any advice will be greatly appreiciated!

Oh, and any ideas for my old Talas? Just ride them into the ground? I guess no-one will want to buy them in their current state, other than perhaps for spares. They're 32 RL 07.

Cheers

Gareth

Looks good. I have 160mm disc rotors though, which might mean the postmount holds the caliper too far out, as it says

Postmount 7" disc mounts, i. e. direct mount of the caliper without adaptor to run with a 180 mm/7" rotor.

Gareth I got the DT swiss 130mm version a couple of months ago, they are awesome, very plush, launch control is great for climbing and the 15mm axle makes them super stiff and pretty bling....can't believe they haven't all been snapped up yet.

Stanchions and steerer tube seem to coated in the same material...very hard to scratch with a hacksaw so bodes well for grit resistance...go for it!

I hated my 150s (I had the QR15 version), They're very light for 150, but the travel adjust is tat. They're either fully extended or LOCKED RIGID in 110mm mode, which means you're climing with a rigid fork. Hit a bump just wrong and you're stopped dead and/or the fork will extend as it blows off.

Talas is far superior.

DTs are VERY plush though, and I would happily buy the 100mm versions...in fact I have 3 pairs on various bikes.

Daffy I think that lockout is the best I've used feel almost rigid for looong fire roads but blow off gives you full travel if you forget to knockit of for descents or hit some rough stuff on the climb! Don't forget the guys just knackered his Talas!
