I run spuds so I don't know much about flats but the wife needs some new ones. Don't need to be fancy or tough, just basic, comfy, grippy etc.

I'm thinking £20, maybe a bit more...?

I got some wellgo efforts from CRC for about a tenner. (V8 copies I think), seem fine so far

here you go, slightly more than a tenner though.

Gusset Slim Jims (or the Edinburgh Bike Coop copies) are great, although they're a big platform and better for big feet.

MG-1. They're a bit over your budget but worth every penny.

how big are the MG1's? Are they a bigger platform than DMR's? If so, I think i've found my new pedals!

I tried some MG1s, they were bigger than the DMRs but still a bit narrow for my liking. I ended up with the mag Slim Jims and they're perfick!

I've got Wellgo V12 copies from CRC (£22) - they seem good to me!

I thought MG1s were about the same size as DMRs, I'll check next time I'm in garage.

If you ride on rocks a lot then they might not be ideal, the metal is definitely softer than alu pedals and they lose pins and knacker up quite easily.

Light and cheap though.

cheers all. The MG1s look fine. Bit ligher than the others, which she'll appreciate I'm sure...

I have just swapped to flatties after years of egg beaters and these are great for the money (thought still £50) - Fat Spanner Pedals
