Just took delivery of a new bike on the cycle to work scheme, whilst setting it up I have noticed the Rockshox fork rebound adjuster will not move at all. Before I go through the hassle of contacting dealer , returning etc. Is there anything obvious I am missing from this, I don't think there is it should just work from the box?.
Which fork?
Though generally they all should turn by hand clockwise and anti-clockwise with clicks. Just to check, you're looking at the red adjuster that's at the base of the damper leg?
Its a Rockshox TK30 Solo air Gold, the adjuster is just a plastic key thing on the lower. It will only move a mm or so its stuck. Bikes not even ridden yet. 2015 Cannondale Trail 2 if that helps at all. Seems to be stuck in the Turtle section.
Just had another look at it whilst turned upside down, I tried operating the rebound adjuster and it freed off, I can now turn it with 5 clicks or so from turtle to hare or if I push the adjuster in a touch and turn it it moves smoothly from hare to turtle and back.I can also hear something moving or adjusting inside the leg as I do this and the settings do have an effect on the forks rebound whilst bouncing it.
Never had this hassle before , can someone put my mind at rest that all is well? Dealer customer support are phoning me tomorrow regarding it.
I have the XC30 and it did the same thing. It has eased off and can be adjusted fine now. It's just some kind of clip on plastic key as you say.
