Posted this before when I had just swapped everything off the XC hardtail.

Now has double/bashguard, lower stem, burly wheels (10mm bolt through rear/20mm front Hope on DT FR600 rims, 2.4 Rubber Queens). I now have a full face helmet and armour, and am frankly glad of it all!

What a transformation!

After years of XC, I am hooked on DH/Freeride and completely 'get it'. All those things I just used to wonder "Why?":

Low, tilted saddle - perfect!

Built for strength, not weight - horses for courses, but even at 33lbs, this bike was a blast on the uplift downhill of Leogang (Austirian Alps). Weight simply doesn't matter in this discipline.

I love it. Just ordered some flatties and shoes to replace the SPDs. I have finally embraced a whole new world of cycling. Great fun, highly recommended.

Finally a proper bike that's not a stupid big wheeled, singlespeeded, weird handlebared, rigid nichefest. Looks nice fella.

Yep, but this was taken before it was christened!

4 hours a day for 3 days at Leogang in Austria.

Great fun! Makes you realise how easy the pros make it look. Watched the Leogang World Cup Downhill a few weeks back and it looked very manageable. None of it! Steep, steep, steep! Rocky, big drop offs.

Great fun, but no beginners playground. Scared me to death for the first few runs but watched others and learned and by the end of the week I was nailing it and loving it.

Not much fun uphill, but absolutely brilliant at what it was designed for.

Riding bikes is riding bikes is riding bikes. It's all good fun innit?

And what Coogan said- nice to see a bike built with some taste rather than to be obnoxiously different on here.

Couldn't agree more. XC, Road, TT, CX, FR, it's all just big kids playing on bikes really!

People get very tribal about their favourite discipline, but you are absolutely right. I mixed riding the road in the Alps (not on this!) with riding this at the bikepark last week and enjoyed both equally.

Rear hose is spot on. It is at its most extended when the frame is unweighted (as shown).

Incredible riding frame. I am a bit worried as Intense do have a bit of a reputation for cracking, but having seen the abuse that they get I am not surprised. I was a bit kinder on mine than some of the guys I saw.
