*slow handclap* for Stirling Council.
The 'end' is interesting - the cycle lane actually continues down the hill.
I have already seen a car pull right across when coming out of junction, to the new and clear 'give way' line, rather than stop at the nearly worn out inner line.
Stirling Council yesterday denied it was their road or handiwork, and told me Bear Scotland were in charge of the work. Bear deny it is their handiwork.

Alethal bit of road design. IIRC this is also the one where another half mile on the cycleway ends just before a traffic calming pinch point at a roundabout making a safe manouvere impossible in traffic
Correct TJ
Personally I would write to the council asking them for the risk assessments they have done and informing them of the dangers then publicise this widely on social media locally and the local press if you can - then if / when a cyclist is injured as a result of this lethal design then the council would be liable and folk would know to sue the council
I would bet whoever did this did not produce risk assessments before hand
Road Safety Audit, not risk assessment.
It's really really poor. I would suggest trying to educate them, as they have designed to regulations. You can't have a solid white line over a junction, solid white means it can't be crossed, which they have designed to, and I would guess the lack of money available.  Junction should be raised, better lighting, path segregated ideally, longer right turn approach with right turn further upstream for better visibility etc. I could go on but I won't you all know I think.
I would be more concerned about those turning right across traffic into the path of oncoming cyclists as said.
best of luck
It transpires (as suspected) it is Stirling Council - a friend who is sustainability co-ordinator in the council (including transport..) has been on it, taken pics and found out the contract was issued to do it. More to follow, as she has also ID'd as TJ points out that the rest of the lane falls well short of safe too...
By the end of the day folk who I know who know folk have got past the councils 'it isn't our road' line.
The head of traffic management to review the scheme next week.
Alasdair Tollemache (Green councillor and cyclist) is also now involved.
Amazing that this is ok'd...
Matt_outandabout ... I applaude your tenacity and I hope that you get this fixed / corrected.
I find myself getting frustrated by cycle lane designs all over Surrey. The next time I'll do something similar and see how far I get as someone who doesn't know someone who knows someone who would know what not.
Good work @mattoutandabout
I probably ought to apply similar pressure to my local council about this - https://goo.gl/maps/7tj5A9dUyNS2 - but it's been there for years, and I really don't think anybody uses it.
Belugabob, just what is that meant to be / achieve? It looks like a pedestrian crossing but barried off. Head hurts looking at it, bloody awful and dangerous design.
its a bypass so you don't get squeezed at the traffic calming island. Right idea. badly executed
Given that there really is no need for traffic calming there (unlike lots of other places nearby, which deserve - but don't get any attention) it's not even a bad idea, badly executed.
Fair play to Stirling and the local councillor Alasdair Tollemache - the markings have been extended over the junction, clearly there is now a green cycle lane over junction, with inner stop line in place, and no 'end' marking.
We shall see if the slippery paint is to be re-placed now....
Good skills M_OAA.
