Day off work waiting for the TNT driver to appear....

Looking forward to hauling that box through the house, not looking forward to selling my old bike 🙂

Congratulations!

It's basically a cheap copy of a Park Tools pizza cutter, it was always too small for me 🙂 PP gift please.

Guess I'll post some pics when it arrives. I need to see if my 150mm dropper fits and change the tyres on my existing wheels etc.

Dpd man arrived early for me, and my cheap winter ride has arrived!

Oddly, I'm rather impressed with new look Claris. Mudguards and proper bars to fit, when I officially complete my 'admin day' working from home 😉

Hope your box is more exciting than mine op!

Wasn’t it the op who bought a mint SC hightower from Stif to find he didn’t like it and was selling it?

Ohh that's nice, congrats 🙂

@tdog, almost right. Bought one from Stif, but I loved it. Just my riding has changed somewhat and found myself far too overbiked.  I got a new shock and it completely transformed it for the better.

Anyway, pic of the new one.  Going to go have a test ride local now.  Ignore the house (like you can!), needs burning down and rebuilding!

I can tell you now thats a fabulous bike 😉

Fyi, as I found out the hard way, ride the bike in Trail mode and leave Open for gnarly stuff.    You'd be surprised, but thats how it works.

Looking forward to your first ride review!

Yeah, I've seen yours on pics a few times and read about the trail/open mode (few of the reviews suggest the same).

Haha, it's the angle of the photo that makes it look like that, it's not that slack 🙂

Think it might be a 32.  I have a 30t oval on my Hightower and that looks smaller.

That looks fast! Very nice.
I think I'd last without a dropper for about a week though.

Dropper will no doubt be on the cards.  Don't think I can get away with a 150mm, so it might have to be a 125mm.

Just had a quick spin and my god does it feel rapid.  Feels like all the best bits from my Hightower and my Cube Reaction! Need to sort gears out though, won't stay on the 50t cog.

I'd been riding my hardtail for the past few weeks and got used to not having a dropper.  Went on the Hightower last Saturday and kept forgetting I had it!

Edit* Just measured my 150mm Reverb and it should fit if it inserts all the way to the collar...

Looks real smart, are those SC’s wheels on there fitted?

what shock did you go for on your HT?

@tdog thanks 🙂

Yeah, I bought the Reserve wheels (27 wide) a bit after my Hightower. I was always going to transfer them to the next bike for the lifetime warranty and they came in a bit lighter than the wheels on the Scott.

I also stole the Vittoria Barzo tyres from my hardtail 🙂

I got a Cane Creek DBair Inline on the Hightower and it made a huge difference over the standard Monarch.
