got a rough idea for our yearly week north of the border.
need a bit of help please.
getting the sleeper up from preston the fort william.
gonna head for fort augustus via a offroad route for the 1st night, then looking to head towards the torridon area for 5 nights.
looking to stay in hostels and b n bs.
is this a viable thing to do, and any route help appreciated........and photo's of this are would be very nice too........ 8)
FW - FA - over the old military road to Glen Moriston. Up the glen to Ceannacroc, up the River Doe, then over to Cougie. North to Affric. Out through the gates to Morvich, north to Inverinate. Elchaig, Killilan, Glen Ling to Attadale.
There are a couple of options which might involve more hikey-bikey.
Accommodation could be found at Cougie (possible detour into Tomich) & Morvich .

Torridon YH is great but you need to book well in advance to get in 😕
Theres an exellent resteraunt a mile or so up the road its walkable after a few beers, but we took the bikes!
Thre of us did the Torridon loop (Kenny Wilson book page 101 Fionnnaraich and Lair)last year,the climb from Coulags was the best singletrack climb I have ever done,theres lots of exellent routes up there,Druids route also looks good, we will be back up there soon. 😉

A lot of miles between here and Fort William.
You might be better off just heading straight to Torridon. If you're only up for a week you'll spend a good chunk of it getting to and away from Torridon. It's a great place, with possibly the best riding in the country, but without a car or van it isn't the easiest place to get to.
