I'm looking to replace the current alloy frame with a spanking new carbon frame and forks which must be able to take disc brakes but a quick search reveals that frame only options are thin on the ground.

Any help from you guys would be much appreciated plus if any one has any pictures of said bike pron than so much the better 🙂

I had the same dilemma a while back.

I went for a MC098 (or AC098, same thing) from Miracle (on Ali express) - The original did crack/break but it does seem that was an exception and they dealt with it very well. Cost me 512 USD.

Is that Kinesis a carbon frame??

Liking the Planet X especially the full build as means I could sell the Vapor on as a full bike but unsure if the 59 frame would be big enough for me given I'm 6'5" with a 34" inside leg??

That Miracle is a beautiful looking bike IMO 🙂

Most of them are out of stock at the moment, the Kinesis was at most places I looked and I don't think PX have much in stock right now. What about the Specialized Crux Carbon Disc (1500), I have the alloy Crux and it's excellent.

This is probably worth a read:
http://road.cc/content/news/94179-cross-great-divide-%E2%80%93-2014-cyclo-cross-round

Round up of the 2014 CX bikes - not sure how many are available as frame only.

I've just got a Specialized Crux Carbon Disc:

(Just the first shopping link on Google)

Orbea and Ridley both do frame only carbon CX.
Not sure about Giant, Trek etc.

The DD is nice but I really don't want to go down below a 60cm frame 🙁

I'm 6'5", 34" inside leg and my MC098 is a 58cm...

FWIW, I thought long and hard about whether to go for a 60 but decided against in the end and it feels pretty spot on - for CX. If I was planning it as a full time road bike (as it's plenty stiff and light enough) then I'd have gone for the 60. I should add that I do use it as a winter (and summer...) road bike too and it's absolutely fine for that though a bit shorter than my 'proper' road bike.

As an aside i guess I could put skinnies on the Scandal with some drop bars and Carbon forks making a Frankien CX bike or is this likely to be too long in the top tube to be comfortable?

If it worked i could then look a XC carbon frames 😕

Assuming you've got an XL Scandal then that's what, 25" tt = 63.5cm tt = v. long for a road bike...

Hmmm this is going to take some thought but I am loving the look of clubbers bike especially with the purple rims and cables 😛

Yeah it's an XL Scandal so think it'll be way too long unless I go really short on the stem but then that's going to make it too twitchy upfront for my very limited skills!

As for bar ends! Go and sit in the corner and think about what you've said 😆

http://www.fossabikes.com/ourshop/prod_2357002-CycloXC-Frame-and-Forks-Disk-Brakes.html

They do a 60cm too, with 58.6 top tube and 20cm head tube.

Re the Scandal - for fun and out of curiosity I've just built up an old Inbred 29er frame with drop bars. At the moment it's got 450mm forks on which are a bit short (I'm waiting for some longer ones) but it works ok. I thnk I ended up with a 90mm stem, which surprised me, and an ugly stack of spacers rather than a longer heat tube. It's far from a carbon framed cx bike but it's doable.

You can get the DD from Miracle too... AC024
http://www.aliexpress.com/item/Toray-T700-carbon-bicycle-parts-cyclocross-frame-AC024-with-3k-weave-clear-coating-finish-2years-of/595528280.

That's not a DD. Different finish and head tube for starters.
