It counts as "new bike day" if you've swapped the frame and done a few upgrades right?

Safe to say my 15 year old is a very happy boy, just need it to stop snowing for a shake down ride.

Frame: Cotic BFeMax Medium

Fork: RS Pike RCT3 140mm

Headset: Cane Creek 40

Stem: Brand-X 35mm long

Bar: Chromag OSX @780mm (They are my old spare set for him to have a play with the width, he's like me long body high ape index)

Grips: Brand-X Half Waffle

Saddle: Chromag Trailmaster (my old one for him to see how he gets on with the shape)

Post: Brand-X Ascend 125mm External (will be upgraded to a 150/170mm drop internal at an opportune moment)

Wheels: Hope Pro-II hubs  (rear converted to boost), Stans Flow 25mm internal version.

Tyres: On-One Chunky Monkey 2.4 and Onza Ibex 2.25 (rear tyre will need to be changed to something bigger/tougher before the summer)

Brakes: Old Deore 2 Pot with 180mm rotors (I have some brand new Tektro Orion 4 Pots from the spares bin to fit at some point)

Cranks: Deore 170mm w/ 30T ring

Cassette: XT 11 Speed

Chain: XT 11 Speed

Shifter: SLX

Mech: SLX

Pedals: DMR Vault

It's weighing in at a very reasonable 14.3kg/31.5lbs inc pedals.

Check out Hambini's YouTube channel, he had a Cotic hardtail frame examination the other week, might be worth shining a torch down the seattube.
I agree with LAT, that is a nice kitchen but I'd have gone with black nickel sockets and put the drinks in the cupboard or fridge.😁

Hambini is to be frank a hack. The fact he thinks Cotics are an open mould design proves this. I always give frames a check over before building them up. I have had a fair few steel hardtails over the years, some cheaper and some more expensive than the cotic. The cotic is the best finished.

We’ve also seen that cotic on this very forum are amazing with customer service.

Yeah I wasn't knocking Cotic and Hambini did say it was very well made even if he doesn't know an IS from a post mount, nobody is perfect, he's far from it, I just found the corrosion bit interesting and thought it was worth a check, this forum has also raised paint and bb shell issues with Cotic, that's just a couple that spring to mind, so they're not without their flaws, same as every other brand.
