Rear wheel seized, only had 3 rides (ok one was a 3 day bivy trip) on a set of new bearings (INA branded bearings).
It is the driveside inner wheel bearing. This one...
I performed a post mortem on the seized bearing, the inner race was fine, no mud or foreign stuff and the grease was all hunky dory.
Previous set of bearings only lasted around 6 weeks, though didn't check which bearing went as just replaced the whole lot as bearings were cheapo ones.
Read on here that a bent axle maybe the cause. Anyone else with similar experiences?
does sound more like an alignment than a wear issue.
have you checked the axle? and that the bearing is seating properly?
Take the axle out completely then roll it on a flat suface slowly you'll soon see if its bent and the cause of the problem if it's not bent then im stumped for idea's mate
Will strip down at the weekend and perform a "roll the axle" test.
Put in a new bearing though hope it will last for the 40 mile spinfest got planned for this evening.
