[Closed] My rear SLX brake isn't working very well

It is the oldder pre 10sp brake. There is no trace of sponginess, I have put in new pads, cleaned the disc with brake cleaner, fiddled with the reach adjuster to no avail. When you grip the lever it feels fine, it just doesn't stop very well. One thing that did occur was the disc is three years old but it looks straight and the surface looks ok to a normal eyeball.
Suggestions appreciated.

Is it aligned centrally to the disc?

Might be worth doing a re-bleed even though there is no sponginess.

Are both pistons pulling? (tbh, an SLX ought to still give decent performance even with one piston seized like a boss, but still worth checking)

Both pistons seem to be working. I did the 'rub with mineral oil' thing and although not quite simultaneous both pistons moved ok.
I have loosened the caliper bolts and re-aligned the caliper but doesn't seem to make any difference. I think a bleed and a different disc are the next moves

Have you bedded in the new pads?

Move it to the front, see what happens.

If the lever is firm but there is no power then a bleed wouldn't be the first thing on my list, it sounds more like a rotor / pad issue. What did you clean the disc with? My money would be on some kind of contamination issue.

Pull the lever harder?
