Awwww I have to watch mine, he starts hitting the bike with a big adjustable spanner or sticking allen keys into it.
Brilliant!
Just need to teach him to walk back into the house with you, scratching his chin, looking solemn and muttering
'yep, I agree dad, looks like new <insert preferred bling upgrade> time' ๐
Awwww I have to watch mine, he starts hitting the bike with a big adjustable spanner or sticking allen keys into it.
Already a better Mechanic than you then! ๐
The scary thing is hes watched me and hes only mimicking what I do.
He also owns his own sponge/scrubber and likes to bring across his stool so he can pretend hes washing in the sink too!
I hate it when mine brings me his stool, potty training is a difficult time... ๐
when i wash my mtb my 2 year old then cleans my road bike ๐ Fave line is "daddy it has wheels - they go roooooouuuuuund"
My daughter's bike has random duct tape patches on it, "so it looks like daddy's".
Just watch for small fingers in disk rotors...
Do my eyes decive me or is that bike upside down? Shame on you.
Just watch for small fingers in disk rotors..
Soo bloody obvious yet not. Thank you, its in my head now for future reference.
my son loves to help wash the bikes too. i think spraying his dad with the hose is the fun bit though... good point re rotors and other bits for trapping fingers - doesn't bear thinking about.
"good point re rotors and other bits for trapping fingers"
Oh we have nearly been there... Mrs FD on another day was showing Jnr FD how to spin the rear wheel. Which he started doing using the spokes just above the chain stay. I could just see fingers getting trapped between the spokes and chain stay. ๐ฏ
...oh and yes its an upside down bike ๐
My 2yr old just pokes tools through the wheels and the bb. Might get him involved in the cleaning. Currently sat in hospital, he just had a hernia op. Think i'll give him a day or two to recover 1st!
hora - MemberAwwww I have to watch mine, he starts hitting the bike with a big adjustable spanner or sticking allen keys into it.
Where did he learn that then??? ๐
Tom83, hope hes ok. I can only imagine the anxiety/worry you'd feel.
To be fair Hora, today was a breeze. Last week however sitting in hastings a&e, then following the ambulance to Brighton childrens hospital because the hernia had become lodged... That scared the carp out of me! Thing had popped back in during the journey though, so had another weeks wait for the op. Glad it's sorted now though!
Phew ๐
Whilst cutting my hedge on Wed night I caught hora junior brushing the neighbours car bonnet with my brush ๐ฎ
Little Pukeko likes using hex key to loosen brake adapters when your not looking...
Homebrew, magic!! I'm googling kits now... ๐
I used to make my dad's homebrew when I was a kid
My sister in law used to fetch her dads fags and light them for him in his mouth.
I used to fetch my dad's pipe for him. Later on, when he was thinking of quitting, I helped him out by mixing a little black powder in with the tobacco...
I used to [s]make[/s] drink my dad's homebrew when I was a kid...which explains a lot....
You wash your bike UPSIDE-DOWN?
How's your head bearing?
Do my eyes decive me or is that bike upside down?
I reckon the bike's the right way up (what heathen would turn it upside down), but FunkyDunc's hanging his lad by the ankles.
Which is obviously perfectly fine.
My daughter always likes to 'help' when i'm working outside/in the garage fixing or cleaning. When she was about 2 she helpfully fixed the paintwork along the side of our camper van and both cars parked on the drive. I really must teach her that a spanner isn't for fixing paintwork. At least she knows what a spanner is, which is more than her mother ๐
mine did this then knocked it over and scratched the stanchions of my brand new Pikes.
Just be careful of the bike they kid will heal ๐
Kids are amazing, they just soak it all in then randomly emulate you at the most inappropriate time - you gotta love em!
My little girl of 18 months has been brushing her teeth herself in the bath, cos she's see daddy doing it....bless!!
