Mmmm.....

Out earlier this evening on a decent bit of flowing downhill singletrack whilst listening to music.

Master of puppets by Metallica

You got another thing comin by Judas Priest

Certainly kept the pace up....

I'm an old-ish git as you might imagine by the music...

The fire road trudge was softened by Chic and Earth Wind and Fire.

The first good mtb video I ever saw was a peterfagerlin thing back in the day with Linkin Park 'In The End' on it so that sometimes pops up in my head

Classical? The Ride of the Valkyries by Wagner (used during that helicopter scene from Apocalypse Now)

i'm usually holding on for dear life when 'getting a scoot on' so rarely do tunes come into my head but occasionally it's Song 2

When climbing however, particularly on the road bike - I like to get Faithless 'Salve Mea' (help me) but the bit from about 4 minutes - rhythm and lyrics blend perfectly for me to adopt a Pantani-esque out of the saddle posture and attitude. And then after 2 and a half minutes (so great for long climbs 😉 ) it's like a sunrise as the music and the vista lightens and you're down the other side, like a bird, as light as a feather, descending like only a mountain biker can.

I SAY I like to get that in my head. Sadly it's usually 'Humpty Dumpty' which also has a good rhythm and probably is a truer reflection of my style.

If I were ever to be chased by the Stasi, I reckon the soundtrack in my head would probably be this:

Takes a while to build up steam, but that added tension seems to just intensify the urge to scarper at speed.

White Lung's album "it's the evil" gets me anywhere I'm walking to a good deal faster, and twitching from the adrenalin.

I’d zone out and crash listening to King Gizzard 🙂

Thought you'd approve, I've had to skip that track a few times in the van in the interests of keeping my license.
