I am getting a Pinnacle Ramin One 29er. First bit of business will be switching the 1x9 to a 1x10. I just ordered a RSP narrow/wide ring from Merlin and a 11-34 cassette, but just realised I ordered a 36t front ring instead of a 34t.
Before I ring to cancel on Monday, I was wondering if I might as well just leave the order and see how it goes?
I don't have the greatest fitness levels at the moment, but its relatively flattish-XC territory round my way and there is a bit of road work between trails/bridleways.
I have been going 34t when fit and 32t when not.... Got a 36t in packaging... Depends on you and your legs and your hills
29er, 36t with a 11/34 cassette ๐ฏ I don't really recognise that as mtb gearing. If it's really flat where you ride it might be ok, but what if you go somewhere that has hills ?
36 11/34 good luck ! , 28 11/36 on my 29er
Hmm. Pinnacle spec the bike with 32t x 11-36t. Maybe I will make that phone call tomorrow. Change to a 34t and see how it goes from there.
...can always change it when my legs drop off.
11-36t and 34ring on my Jones, its fine around my local area but it wore me down a lot faster when i rode in a hilly area like Wales or the Peaks. I did manage all the climbs i normally get up though, just be prepared to feel tired quicker. You would probably get used to that sized ring eventually, maybe?
