No other details, but a bit of a dick move by the local riders if true.

Ridden trails in Tuscany that went through an Etruscan archeology site.

Think the trails are still open. Will find out next month.

It's an odd article, they haven't made any attempt to see if it's true and just repeated what some Tory said. And we all know how honest they are!

I ride there there all the time

Its absolute bollox

Theres never been any signs about the hillfort (well not in the last decade)

The blue route at Woburn circumnavigates it, im not aware of any new trails cutting through it.

Bits have been chewed up by forestry vehicles and the sandy soil is easily eroded, the forestry works take priority , pretending bikes make difference is nonsense

https://www.putnoemowsburyfriends.org.uk/danesborough.html

Its already bisected by several footpaths ylthat cut through it

Hopefully the link will show the Strava Heatmap for the area.

Obviously there are loads of variables/ constraints/ caveats to be considered but at face value it seems that the riders are avoiding the camp (as shown on the OS map as a ovoid embankment; I have not got a pic of this) and there is far more walking and hiking activity on the camp compared with riding activity.

FWIW Danesborough is here:

I agree with all the points above. Sloppy journalism, gammon/ nimby get off my land local councillor.

@kimbers- spot on, well done. Are you likely to respond to the article?
