Having just picked up my jaw from my desk at Snowcard and Dogtag's quote for a week mtbing in morocco (85 quid!). I've come across the Austrian Alpine Club - seems to cover everything for a much more reasonable 45 quid for the year...

Has anyone tried them? Anyone ever had to make a claim?

Hi Ewan,

Morocco is one the countries that is sometimes excluded from travel insurance polices. Best to check if your potential policy covers there.

My mate found out the hard way, crashed his motorbike in the mountains, and couldn't ride. Morocco used to insist that whatever you took into the country, you took home. Hence he was forced to stay a month there, until he was able to sort his bike.

This probably is of no use to you whatsoever. My mate has a good story though.

Dogtag will do annual insurance inc winter sports cover for not much more if you intend to go anywhere else I the next 12 months. Works out ok, even better if you need couples insurance.

haven't tried them, but have just shelled out £85 with Snowcard for a week in Morocco…. I thought the same as you! It's annoying, but I try and remember not as annoying as not having decent cover should I need it...

Bit of a thread hijack/resurrection.
Ewan - one of the possibilities for my next overseas trip is morocco. However, would possibly be going with a relatively inexperienced biker - what was the biking like, technical or easy? Did you go on an organised tour? Any info much appreciated.
thanks
