Got the chance to get hold of a pair of these - [url= http://www.mscbikes.com/components.php?familia=0032&subfamilia=&marca=&inputbusqueda=&x=7&y=9 ]MSC STAR FR AIR fork 0-160mm[/url] but I've never seen or used any MSC forks before. Has anyone out there got any experience of them?

Never heard of em, but found an old post suggesting they manufactured by Kowa forks.
Kowa's 160Ss air forks look very similar..

They look like the very fellas. Found a reference to the Kowa forks on Pink Bike and they seem to get favourable reviews from the few who have tried them.
