Although Evian doesn't start on J McA's land the final bit is on his land, which is why there are/were private signs towards the end of the trail and why he keeps blocking the exit. So given the current situation no it is not a good idea to ride down Evian, similarly 3A
Just for clarity, could somebody upload a map with the effected area shaded. I know where evian and 3a and A51 are but was hoping for a clearer definition to avoid straying into disputed land. As said above best avoided until the heat dies down.

one thing Jim is not liking is when building jumps causes fire in the forest like it did in aug 2015 and wrecked 1.5 acres of wood
What was the story here? How did jump building cause a fire?
Resulting litter no doubt.
From what I understand he isn't against trails per se, it's the jumps/drops that really annoy him because of the potential liability that is transferred to him.
Very good friends of mine who live locally know him pretty well. There are a few things that irk him, eg so much building / riding on private property (it's not "access land" as exists nearby) but it's the liability for serious injury eg from jumps that really bothers him. Even if you don't sue him your widow might. This is a real risk I have seen in sailing events where despite competitors signing a disclaimer dependent familes sue the organisers (their insurers/rich guy ....)
So,
SS including the 2nd/main half is Jim's, as is a lot of stuff now.
Main issue is stuff near his land and ending on or crossing his drive.
Generally now, keep out of that area, leave things alone, let's move on. There are tonnes of other fun trails about.
More closures on Redlands or Ranmore can't remember which I was told yesterday.
In addition it transpires that
1)he and his family were subjected to abuse every time they told riders to keep to the paths instead of the drive.
2) Lots of debris thrown across the drive from trail/jumps building.
3) Riders now tearing down the Private Land - Keep out signs
In light of the tragic recent event over the weekend there is an expectation that more land owners will clamp down on jumps etc.
Seems like S Hills is becoming a victim of it's own success.
Anyway there is still tons of stuff around the area, just wish certain users exercised common courtesy, common sense and respect for the area they ride in.
