It's on again, under BMBO rules this time.
Starting at Far Forest Scout Hall, you will have three hours to visit up to 30 control points spread over a 12km by 10km map.

Good stuff - I wish I wasn't injured ๐ฅ
I quite fancy doing one of these sometime.
Where are you, IHN?
I'm involved with both Midlands and Black Mountains MBO, as I'm sort of on the border between the two.
BMBO seems biggest in t'North, although there's a Somerset club as well.
There's also Gorrick in the South East, a separate club running similar events.
In Cirencester.
Never done one of these. Easy enough for map capable newbie to get the hang of despite middling riding fitness ?
Easy enough, yes.
All the control points will be at the side of the road or bridleway on obvious landmarks like a bridge or sign post. There's no heading off in to the undergrowth on a bearing like there is with foot orienteering.
I did about 100km at the weekend visiting all 30 control point. No one is going to clear the course in three hours.
Some riders will get more than 20 CPs, some will get less than 10.
It's up to you which ones you visit, and in which order, so just pick a route that suits your ability.
Thanks Graham. May well give it a go !
