I've finally been out and ridden the new bike.
Wow, even taking into account the new bike feeling i'm sure that this is the best bike ive ridden.
The frame, suspension and groupset work perfectly together and with a couple of little changes i've got it down to 20.68lb.
What do you think?

looks very very nice, I would like to get my soul down to a similar weight (although obviously just under a pound heavier).
Is that a small or a medium?
Could you possibly give us a geeky list of all the components?

I think id be worrying more about the credit card statement!! ๐
I find denial works best for that! If the bike doesn't look too flash is can't have cost that much.
thanks for the list - gives me something to aim for, even if the bank balance isn't up to it right now!
Wondering what other frames you considered along with the Soda?
I recently sold a 2010 Cove Hummer to buy this one, previously has a 2009 Cotic Soda, a Ti Prince Albert and have tried a few other ti hardtails.
The Cotic geometry and size, just feels right for me and where i ride.
It's been an long and expensive build, hopefully i can keep this for a very long time.
That is super sweet. Nice attention to detail. I think I'd have gone QR15 on the forks, and probs used KCNC finishing kit for lighter seapots with layback and wider bars, but other than that, can't fault you.
Enjoy.

Bobalong you have much to learn. That's not geeky, it's just a spec list for an insurance quote.

Love your Soda BTW although I'd be interested to see how you got it to 20 point something lbs. I have a Ragley ti that is at 25lbs and a mate has one also that's at 23lbs 4ozs. His is about as light as you can possibly get with the exception of his seat post, plus his is 1x10.

Cos aside from the frame, and the Thomson stuff, it's all seriously light, XC race weight kit... Some Rocket Ron's, lighter grips and perhaps Ritchey/KCNC stem and seatpost would have that down sub 20lb easily...
Very nice bike by the way!
Lovely build, I'm currently rebuilding my 08 Soda, don't reckon I'll get anywhere near the weight of that.
Must climb hills by itself....
Try helium in the tyres, that will make it seriously light.Available at all good balloon shops
It's a genuine weight - on two different types of bike shop scales just to be sure. One is a Park tools set the other brand i dont know.
Thomson equipment is pretty light, but not the lightest. What it looses in weight, it makes up for in durability and quality of finish.
My friend has a ragley and it is significantly heavier, partly due to the 140mm talas.
If you add the offical weights up of all the parts, it should be a fraction around 19.5lb!
Thanks to most of you for your positive comments, i love it too.
Cy - i'd probably go for 15Qr if i didn't already have the forks and hubs. It was a step too far to change them!
