That's a good review.

What many people don't get about a fatbike is that it can take you places that don't have a track = true cross country.

The comment

"Basically if you can walk without post holing or kicking steps then you will be riding"
is probably the best description I've seen of a fatbike's capability.

As is the need for an ultra low gearing. 🙂

Thanks Epicyclo we are just realising what is capable and have some cool adventures planned, only made possible by fat tyres and blow up boats.

For sure that sounds a great idea Al,
we have some crazy idea of doing a coast to coast in Scotland..............
Sounds normal? aye but as the crow flies!

Great review! Interesting to read some real-world use of the Moonlander.

Hmm, I have exactly the same plan myself. But not fat bike so it might take a lot walking or a careful route choice!

There is no route choice. You dont get to go around anything! You follow a straight line on the garmin and yer not allowed to budge from it!

Would be good to see a speeded up film of it some day.

A nice review, thanks backcountrybiking. 🙂
Although I don't need a fat bike, I really want one. Hopefully 2013
