I need some roof mounted racks and plan to leave them on all year. Thule are v expensive over here in Oz, so i'm concidering a twin pack of these from CRC (still £50 cheaper than one Thule 591 over here). I know they are UV stabilised polymer, but we get a lot of sun over here! Does anyone have experience? Also, how easy is the frame clamp to operate?
Great carriers imo, never had any issues with them, very robust, easy to mount the bike in and secure, the clamp is pretty solid, easy to use and also lockable, a 2.35 nevegal tyre fits in with a bit of a wiggle.
Can't comment on the UV question but at worst I'd guess they'd fade a little like the ABS bumpers on cars etc...
If you unsure they fit onto/into the roof rails within a minute or two, so not much of a ball ache to keep fitting and removing once a week

Mine as good as new after 3 years
Thank you. Just the kind of real world / long term user reassurance I was after 🙂
Mine have been fine. If you manage to install them wrong and break something like me they are good with support as well, they just sent me the bits free in the post.
If you have the T-track roof bars they just slide on very quickly.
Good to know, thanks.
