I'd like to come. Well see what do.

Also, don't suppose anyone has some Magura Louise BAT pads do they?

I will order some today but don't know if they'll arrive on time 🙁

Bregante not sure but was it the spline on your cranks that was the problem. I have a newish XT double with 24 38 rings if any good to keep you mobile until your spares arrive. You could put your existing rings on if cranks suitable.

Cheers for the offer brennak but I'd have to swap the rings too as mine won't take bigger than a 32t middle. Am hopeful some spangly new slx ones will be arriving tomorrow or Saturday. Failing that I might bring the rigid 29er out 😯

Any more takers?

Also… I have had my pass stamped (provisionally) to do Mayhem next year, so if anyone is interested in a MNPR team or teams we can start plotting, scheming and planning fancy designer race tops.

We've got some of the Saaaaarf Manchesto Massif joining us tonight too, and rumour has it that.....

*pauses for dramatic effect*

The Enigma himself may be joining us 😯

Can't make it tonight, son's birthday.

I'd be up for joining an MNPR contingent at MM next year though, count me in. 🙂

I’ll be taking my lad (he’ll be 8 years old next summer). Also my BIL and 10 year old nephew are up for it too. So if you want to bring Mini Mint (TicTac?) and his bike…

That sounds ideal, it'll be much easier to get permission if I bring the boy with me. Ace!

…is the correct answer

Sell it as you and the lad gifting your missus a weekend of leisure time to do all of the stuff that she can’t whilst you are getting under her feet. 😉
I’m hoping that my wife will crack on with painting the soffits, so I’d best make sure that the ladders are easily accessible.

I could tell you the suggested route, but then I'd have to kill you.

Its cheekier than a young Dickensian cockerney rapscallion, starring in an Ealing Comady 😀

You'll have to come along and see!

Oot,

will be in the Chilterns, where it's perpetual summer, birds sing, buxom wenches serve tankards of chilled cider, and the riding is bucolic and sun dappled beech groves.

and bloody 5 hours away on the M6...what fun... 😈

Last night there was no way I was going to make it. Right now is a maybe, by this evening it may be a probable. If I'm not there on time I won't be at all.

+1 for MM next year. After this weekend's ordeal I'm thinking being in a team might be a better idea 🙂

Can we please ensure, collectively, that [s]wittonweavers[/s] Susan is subjected to the same amount of grief/piss-taking/mockery and mirth as I would if/when I came out with that.

😆

Daz - I wouldn't miss this for the world. Hora's coming apparently. Not only that, but he's buying everyone a pint when we get back to the dog and bunny

The first week you missed we were all saying about how it was wonderful that you'd got this new found freedom and were enjoying the self employed life and nobody took the piss.

By week four we'd assumed that you'd taken the self employment thing a bit far, got yourself a 1960s ambulance and gone all new model army on us or something 😉

May I remind everyone that a few years ago during one of those rare warm summers, binners joined my 'Hit the North', (as part of a mixed) team and we won!, Yes won. The glory and podium were ours for a brief few minutes.
Wipes away tear at the memory.

In a rare attempt at being a good husband (a non-married one I might add), and seeing as I've been away all weekend, I decided to stay in tonight and cook tea for Mrs Daz. Haven't seen her yet, she's out in the garden playing in her new greenhouse. I'm watching C4 News on +1. A lesson learned there I think.

Top ride chaps.

A bit of a rude introduction for Mr MNPR Newbie (didn't catch your name), especially when we all cheered when he went down like a sack of shit on that grassy slope. 😳 Hope it didn't put you off.

Dunno, no doubt he'll be along to tell us shortly.

However, it is worth mentioning that the combination of short seat post and long forks gave his Dandyhorse an appearance not dissimilar to this...

A good ride last night glad I made the effort even met Hora even though he pretended to be someone else in the car park. Hope the casualties are feeling better this morning. Nightmares last night I seem to have distant recall of stupidly offering to do a 24hr event with team Binners.

I do think it was quite considerate of everyone to make Gavin feel more relaxed about falling off in front of everyone by then taking it in turns to hurl themselves at the floor.

It was like we were all channelling the spirit of Hora

There might be enough for two teams at this rate. Maybe we should lobby for the creation of a couple of new sub-categories of most broken bikes and trivial injuries?

Chin is still bleeding 12 hours later, considering the possibility that I should have bobbed in to to A&E on the way home for a stitch and a scan.

Right wrist is proper ****ed, couldn't get my glove on this morning!

Nice stunt-fall from the banking sideways to be saved by Harry's saddle. I was impressive 😀

Great ride- the second to end descent, where we waited after the chain break, whats it called? That is nice- I need another go with proper wheels on again 8)

A&E in Manchester with a just a flesh wound? No chance! You'd still be waiting in a triage queue now. Hope it's better soon. Maybe we need one of these on future rides, wrong size wheels though...

Anyone else itching after last night?

I picked up a few dozen midge bites, and whilst the red spots have gone the itching is driving me bananas. I was wondering if it was the midges or whether the kids had brought home “monsters” again and I’d have to take drastic action.

Sadly I have a wedding to go to on Saturday. Nice idea though, I've always quite liked the idea of dawn(ish) rides. Never quite managed to motivate myself to do them though.

To paraphrase the well known football chant....

YOU CAN STICK YOUR *ING ROAD BIKES UP YOUR *!!!!

And in further injury news, the piece of unidentified trail furniture that managed to find the gap in my pads, and take the skin off the back of my knee, has now resulted in an absolutely mahoosive bruise. I'm still now quite sure how I managed it, to be honest! Unidentified Riding Injuries Eh?
