I was too busy eating crisps and talking about Aled Jones and swearing to fully take in what the plans for next week are.

Somebody mentioned something about Clayton Vale, so please chip in with the details of whatever plan was hatched.

I think plan would be overstating it, we have the same pub dilemma as we do when at the BMX track.

I'd suggest putting some beers in a bag and leaving them to chill in the river but if they don't get nicked by the local youths the police will have been called about us dumping bodies in there 😉

I thought that we solved the BMX pub dilemma quite well.

What about Edenfield again ?
I can't remember the pub but we can ride down to Rawtenstall over to Bacup , through Lee Quarry ( 1/2 a lap) up to Craft ( 1/2 a lap) then back to the pub.

I think Clayton Vale sounds like a good idea! The thought of traipsing around the moors avoiding weather bombs isn't appealing at the moment.

I have never been to Clayton Vale but after enjoying messing about in Philips Park earlier this week I think it makes sense given the current conditions...

Clayton Vale? I'll bring my cheap bike then. And Stella's a bit high-brow for the types that hang around in the woods there. More like this....

You're still aiming a bit high there dazh

I'm on nights from Sunday but don't need to be in work til 11 so it is do-able. Usually feel like death warmed up on the first night so I'll play it by ear.

I presume the meeting point tonight is the velodrome car park? I should be there if I can be bothered driving all the way back to Manc after riding back to Tod.

Wa-hay!

50:50 whether I'll make it. The family all have the plague and I'm feeling less than fluffy at the moment.

Hmmm. This has got the feeling of that littlebrough ride where everyone made some crap excuse and no one turned up.

Sadly i'm not going to make this one either. have a good ride - anyone that turns up tonight. I have a justifiable excuse but realise that no one will believe me anyway...

Right, for the record, and just so no one turns up expecting me to be there, I'm out. No crap excuse, it's christmas, and I'm going for a few pints after work instead 🙂

Definitely up for next week, wherever it is, as I'll officially be on holiday and the in-laws will have landed so I'll need an excuse to get out, rather than stay in.

Can we just do a bike-bound pub crawl next week instead. Bikes optional 😀

I'm giving it a miss. Starting to feel like death and the rest of the household are like zombies.

Did anyone decide a venue for Monday? Does it involve a ride or just the pub as Binners suggested?

I won't be out on Monday. It's my birthday (46 FFS) so I'll be at home receiving visitors. Bugger.

Eh? If it's your birthday, surely you get to choose. You should INSIST all the family and visitors attend your celebration, (and all buy you a beer afterwards)

Judging by the ridiculous amounts of rain recently maybe the pub is best plan. We can all wear our t-shirts and look like some saddo internet clique. Alternatively there's probably just enough packhorse trails around Tod to manage a ride without sinking into the bog if no one has any better ideas.
