I took my mmmbop out for its maiden voyage on Sunday, and I am amazed at how much fun I had!
This bike put a silly grin on my face from the moment I sat on it and pratted about launching off kerbs and speed bumps, bimbling down bridleways around New Mills and Rowath. Even when I had to limp home in my granny ring due to a spectacularly bent outer chainring, I loved every minute!
Build Spec:
18" mmmbop,
Revelation team 120-140mm, 1.5" tapered steerer
Gravity 3 headset
Deore shifters, front derailure and chainset, slx rear derailure.
Truative hussefelt 40mm stem, bars and seat post (after a bit of re-jigging of the seat tube!)

It feels heavier than my old rockhopper, but I don't know how heavy it is.
Anyways, onto the questions.
1) I've taken the forks off to trim the steerer now I'm happy I know how high to cut it, but discovered there are 2 grooves in the tube. The first is immediate above the top of the cone for the taper, and the 2nd is exactly 3.5cm above this. Is this "normal" or is my headset rubbing and causing this? (I'm not sure it is as the ring goes all the way around the steerer, and I'd guess if it was rubbing, then it would only rub at the "front" of the tube. The grooves aren't deep - i.e. I can't feel them with a finger nail, but can clearly see them.
2) On my first ride, I hit a rock at reasonable speed (I was going quicker due to the confidence the fork and frame gave me) and I binned it into the bushes. The only damage was a pretty bent outer chain ring that is beyond repair. Are deore chainrings normally made of cheese?
3) I can't get my rear disk rotor to spin without rubbing on the calliper, and I never had this problem on my old frame. The little raised pads the calliper mount sits on appear to have been faced, and the rotor sits flat on a tabletop, so I don't think it's warped. Any ideas?
