For this sort of terrain

Loose gravel type stuff, should I be looking for a small knob close pattern type tyre or a larger more open tread pattern, or even a semi-slick tread?
Or, will almost anything do, I'm guessing a dry type tyre but don't want something that will end up clogging up with small stones?
