I bought a 2.5 Dual Ply Super Tacky DHF Minion and a 2.4 Dual Ply 60a DHR2 - when I fitted them, I noticed the 2.4 was wider than the 2.5
I guess this is because DHF is from the "old" Maxxis sizing, while the DHR2 is "new" sizing.
Does anyone know if the newer versions of the DHF dual ply like the 3C MaxxGrip are still "old" sizing or are they wider?
They look about 2'6 tall in the movies.
Errr what size? I asked a similar question some weeks ago. The 650b DHF's are definitely the new 'wider' variety Maxxis sizing, not sure on the 26 or 29 though.

So the 26" 2.5 is 55, so it's actually narrower than the 2.3 26" (58)
My 2.4 DHR2 is 61
The ertro sizing on maxxis is pretty much as hooky as the inch sizing tbh- sometimes it works but not always. I particularily liked the Swampthing, the 2.5 was 55, the 2.35 was 52, none of these numbers was true but they [i]were[/i] both basically the same width. Just total pisstaking tbh, the inch sizes are just marketing and the ertro numbers apparently just a guess.
Great tyres mind but they're measured with a rubber ruler and then marked up with a rubber conscience.
Why the hell can't there be a standard method for sizing tyres? I mean FFS, how hard can it be? I know you get different rim widths but why not size all assuming a 25mm or something? At least you would have some idea what you were going to get based on past experience. And why not add the profile to the size while they're at it.
