CRC are listing the current XT outer chainrings at over £76.99! I can get a Middleburn Slickshift Hardcoat outer chainring from CRC for £33 so where as I'd previously seen Middleburn as expensive, they're actually rather cheap.
My current XT outer ring is ok but will need changing one day and a Middleburn seems the obvious choice. My chainset is a 4 bolt M752 Octalink(Hollowtech 1) setup with outer ring bolt circle diameter of 104mm. Could I fit one of these, 4 bolt, 44 tooth rings to my chainset and does mixing different manufacturer's rings affect shifting?
Not sure if this will be of any help....but i run a Shimano Hone crankset which i initally ran with Truvative Bash/36/24 rings without any probs.
Have recently replaced 36 ring with a Middleburn Hardcoat Slickshift and it's been running fine for a couple of months.
As long the BCD is the same (which it is) then you should be fine.
Yep sure that's fine, I'm about to fit Middleburns to XT and I know others that have already done so.
They look darn good to.
Think you only get 4 bolt, 5 bolt ATB (old style) and 5 bolt CD (later style)
