Need a new lid after a catastrophic fall last weekend. I have had a MET Veleno for the last few lids and find the fit well, but looking to try something a bit different.

What are people views on the Kaos?

I have a Kaos UL and love it. Previously had a Giro Hex and the Kaos is leagues ahead.

I find mine very comfortable, light, good venting and no sweat drips down my face like it did on the Hex. They are expensive but if you shop around you can get them cheaper.

I have the older version with cloth pads instead of the new gel ones.

Don't have a Kaos have the more roadie Inferno UL. Tried the Kaos and really liked it, just preferred the Inferno. The main thing with METs is that if you've got a Met shaped head then all of their helmets feel great but Giro and especially Specialised I've found to be unbearable.

I find that the Met Veleno suits my head shape but the pads are the most ridiculous, cheap & nasty things that really ruin the rest of the helmet for me.
I don't know if they've improved the padding of their helmets but I wouldn't consider another MET. The strap adjustment never stays put, either.

I tried a Bell Variant recently & that was great. But, as you say - it all comes down to the shape of your noggin at the end of the day.

I have a Kaos UL and as MRanger156 says.. it's a great helmet, I particularly like the gel forehead band.. it's light, fits nicely, gives good venilation and looks pretty good.

I got mine from Fudge cycles, about £89 if I remember, came quickly too, undercut CRC by about a tenner.

I have a MET shaped head, this is my 4th Met helmet (this one replaced a 5th Element) and I think its the best to date.. buy it if you find them comfortable :o)

I've got a Kaos UL and it is a great helmet. Superlight and comfy and it doesn't really feel like I'm wearing it in comparison to my previous helmet (Specialized Havoc). Got mine in a sale at my LBS and it is worth every penny.

Kaos UL here too - unbelievably light and very comfortable, paricularly for all day rides where a weight on your neck / head does make a difference.

I got my Kaos UL a couple of weeks ago for £80.00 from CRC and have found it to be great.

It's really light and looks cool in the anthracite colour 8)

I was looking more at the non-UL Kaos, the Kaos FR, but not sure of the difference other than finish and weight. Is everything else the same. £80 on CRC for the UL or £70 for the FR.

After my last fall, protection and coverage is more important than out-and-out lightweight.

I can vouch for the Kaos for crash worthyness...Headbutted a rock last month, split the helmet, only left me with a grazed forehead and aching neck...
