Flicking through a pike of old mags last night (looking for a Mazz review) and all I could see in mbr was countless images of bikes with Fox shox, reviews of Fox shox, adverts of Fox shox. Now Whatmtb was similar but to a lesser degree.
What gives?! Bias?
Ps. I dont buy Mbr anymore- tired of the ad content.
There is a lot of bikes out there speced with them as standard though you do tend to see a fair number of RS forks though i don't remmeber seeing an advert for them.
I doubt it's as bad as you make out.
Aside from whether Fox are better or worse than other forks, I think its an image/marketing thing: speccing Fox forks on complete bikes helps sell the bikes...I just get the impression your average MTBer off the street who doesn't spend countless hours pouring over the mags/websites/forums etc sees Fox forks as a definite plus when purchasing off-the-peg and so manufacturers spec them.
As owen says- a hell of a lot of bikes have them (forks) specced as standard once you get to bikes equipped to SLX/X7 ish level and above. The shocks are market leaders- using anything else is going out on a limb.
Advertising - well it's biased anyway, but the mags will take anyones money.
*you should know by now if it's not specialised with fox forks/shock its shoite!

I'm sure there was a MBR cover in the last 6 months that had a bike with Marzocchi forks and it had some dirt on it!!
I only noticed as it was so unusual, so your not the only one to think there is a Fox bias in MBR Hora
To slightly backtrack- agree with owenfackrell on your comment.

Strangely true!
I hate these staged riding shots on the front cover. A dull, wet hillside with a perfectly positioned & poised rider bathed in light on a perfectly clean bike.
takisawa2 - in mbr they have some alien-looking bloke both on the cover and hes been in the skills section as well. **** he looks other-worldly! ๐
