I tended to run High Roller 2.35 Supertacky on the front for a couple of years now, not only are they heavy (circa 950grms) but they do feel as though they have more drag than Danny La Rue.

Been reading a few threads on the tinterweb on these as they have a 70/60/50 durometer reading compared to the 42 on the ST HR (or ST Minion).

So in theory they should sit somewhere between the 60a maxxis and 42a maxxis, but is this the truth in real life?

anybody used them and got any views (apart for the price of them)

Cheers

Chucky

Mate uses the 2.5 Minin DHf in this version. Its ace.

I use a 2.35 supertacky and its nowhere near as good as his 2.5 exo

I rode 2.5 supertacky dual ply for a whole week of XC in Spain.*

Man up, get down the gym and do some squats!

*I was at the back of the group and suffered a lot as a result. I'd have liked the 3C exos, but the only people in our group to survive tyre cut and pinch flat free were on dual ply/DH caseings, all the 'reinforced' sidewalls might have helped, but did get flats. That and a pair of 2.5 ST's was the same price as 1 3c EXO!

I've got the 3C EXO minion on the front, not as grippy as the ST but def much better than the 60a versions and they roll much better than the ST.

Only downside is the eye watering price but that's probably offset a good bit by the increased longevity.

FYI I got mine from nextdaytyres as they were the cheapest.

Google says 2.5 3C EXO's are £35/each, hmmmm tempted, but I've got some specialized eskars to use up first.

Fitted some of these for my Alps trip this year, 3 weeks in Davos and then the Les Arc area. They were superb really. Rolled fast yet gripped well too, including a very wet and muddy day in Tignes bike park! They looked barely worn after those 3 weeks.

Also, set-up tubeless on Flow rims with a track pump with ease.

Thankfully being in the 'trade' meant RRP wasn't such as issue!
