Anyone else having problems with their Maxle systems?

I have a Pike U-turn air with a 20mm Maxle & a 12mm Maxle lite on the rear.

I've found both to come undone when riding, even though i've tightened up the system to the point where i can hardly get the thing open again.

Take it apart, grease lightly the expanding wedges.

The axle system?

TBH i struggle to see how the QR axle keeps the screw-in part tight.

it expands it to stop it from rotating by making it very tight in the dropouts

Strip and lube and you will see

Edit:

Are you tightening the axle in the fork then flipping the qr lever? Try tightening the nut on the non qr side before flipping the lever.

I recently broke the two half cup things that the lever keys into by over tightening it dry on my rear 12mm. It was coming loose and the wheel was wobbling. It is quite brittle. Managed to get a large flat blade screw driver in to turn it in the end. Think I will grease and cable tie lever on new one.

Yup, find i have to rotate the non-QR side as without it comes undone in minutes, even without riding it seems!

Think i'll strip it down & grease the parts tonight - cheers.
