Weathers looking nice for it. As usual! You can't actually see anything out there!!! I was up on the tops on Thursday, and it's a quagmire up there already. Before it lashed down all night, last night! If you're doing it... Good luck! You're going to get wet! Get the sealskinz out! I'll be staying in bed! ๐Ÿ™‚

Say 'Hello Ivy' to the Mountain Rescue lady with the bright red hair and the wall-eyed collie.
Sister in law innit?

Good luck everyone, it's going to be moist.

It's pretty miserable, but will possibly clear by lunchtime. The sun cream may help keep the swamp leeches off though.

I'm in. Entered it for the past 3 years but chickened out each time due to the weather. This year I'm doing it whatever it's like. Forecast is good but I suspect it'll be wet on the ground so it might as well be raining.

Think I'll put the Crud Catcher back on and say goodbye to the summer.

Seventh time for me, looking forward to doing it in good weather. Did a practice lap two weeks ago and the trails were pretty dry and it's not rained too much since.

Yes it was very wet, but just dry enough to dry out between the really wet bits so not too bad. A great event I thought, everyone was very friendly and there was a great atmosphere. The climb over Rooley Moor at the end was truly barbaric. I understand now why the start is where it is. Also the MTL could do with some better signage in places, as there was quite a bit of confusion as to where the route went among those of us who didn't know it.

Absolute epic ride, 6.5 hrs in saddle, but there's no rest your either climbing up steep rocky climbs or descending rocky/cobbles my wrists/hands are killing me, full suss next year!!!!!

Well done to all you loons who did it. Yesterday's ride over the same trails in constant rain meant I lamed out. It's WET up there. The thought of Rooley Moor Road near the end? **** that!!!

You're all mental!!! ๐Ÿ˜‰

GREAT event as always but made even better by the good weather!
Certainly challenging on SS but happy with 3rd place with a time of 4:21.
Many thanks to all who helped including the mountain rescue teams and all those who made those FABULOUS cakes at the finish!!

Jcooland that's an awsome time, I can in at 7hrs also single speed (well granny gear the whole way so kinda counts)

Think 1st place was 4:20

4:21 on a single speed!!! I was over the moon to finally get (just) under 5 hours but I had the luxury of gears... Fair play to everyone who got round though, a great day out.

Anyone know how many did it? I think I was 27th, would be nice to know out of how many.

Deets I also came in at just under 5 hours so probably rode with you for some of it. Were you in the group of guys who had someone (with a Bolton accent I think) navigating with his Garmin? I was on the green solaris (if you could see the colour under the mud).

4.21 on a singlespeed is very impressive. NIcely done jcopland!

4:20? The mind boggles. 4:21 on a SS? Ditto.

Did all the gates get opened for it?

Dazh - I remember seeing your green Solaris at the finish, think you were a few places ahead of me (I was on the black muddy Soul)

Thanks guys for your great comments!
I did end up opening most of the gates after the first mile or so as not many people were keen - which is fair enough.
The official times have it at 4:18 so even better ๐Ÿ˜‰
32/18 was brutal but took 12 mins off last years time on a full suss 29er
