Always had the idea to catch the Train to Manchester after work and then ride back home to Leeds with a cheeky bivi along the way.
Any route recomendations?

north out of mancs up towards bury, on to mary townley to hebbers, hebbers over to ogden water, onto bingley bash, onto canal and hey presto.

Bit longer distance perhaps, you could follow the trans pennine trail eastwards from Manchester to Barnsley then north to Leeds from there.
