Booking a couple of nights in the mabie area in September but don't know the area well at all. Any good b&bs in Ealing distance of some good pubs and restaurants?

The Mabie House hotel us actually at the start of the Mabie trail and as well as posh rooms, also has cheaper rooms that are good value, and a couple of camping pods.
They do b&b but also pretty good meals in the bar. About 20 mins drive from Dumfries.

Is the hostel/ lodge still there that was further up the hill past the hotel and start of trail? We stayed there about 9 years ago. Hot tub and sauna in garden - which was nice.

Mabie House as above.
Dumfries is only 5mls from Mabie with loads of B&Bs and choice of eateries.
The Anchor @ Kipford is a bit away, nearer Dalbeattie but is also a fav with bikers
teamslug is referring to ; http://www.marthrownofmabie.com/

Usually a few group rides on a Tues & Thurs evening or Ae on a Tues.

As already mentioned this place is absolutely bloody brilliant!!!! Had one of the best weekends ever there for our friends wedding celebrations. Go out riding, get back and sit in an outdoor wood-fired hot tub, beer in hand, looking out over the most spectacular views.

What's not to like?

That looks very tempting Binners. A couple of my group just want a simple B&B though which is a shame as I would love to try that.

The Mabie House option is fully booked, also a shame as looked ideal.

Any other suggestions very welcome.

Click on the Dumfries map link for a "safe" cycle route out to Mabie; http://www.dumgal.gov.uk/index.aspx?articleid=2538

Try the Station Hotel, the Cairndale and the Holiday Inn for weekend deals ๐Ÿ’ก
Listed on here; http://www.lodging-world.com/uk/scotland/dumfries-and-galloway/dumfries?page=2&show=0

Lots of B&Bs in town which is only 15-20min drive to Mabie or Ae and a wee bit more to Dalbeattie. Kirroughtree is a 1hr drive. Watch for and beware of speed cameras on our roads!!!!!

Not B&B but do have a restaurant: http://www.barendholidayvillage.co.uk/
Nearer to Dalbeattie than Mabie but only 20min drive along the coast road. Nice beach across the road at Sandyhills and a coastal path to walk or bike along to Rockcliffe, on to Kipford and a meal at the Anchir or Mariner pubs ๐Ÿ˜†
