I've found at halfords but in cages.
Surely someone sells a bag of loose ones?
What size are they if I buy from a none bike shop?
Cheers

LBS should have them in stock I reckon.

What hub is it? I assume Shimano and googled and got this http://steveukmtb.wordpress.com/shimano-hub-overhaul-cup-and-cone/

The problem is, most LBSs sell Grade 1000 bearings, Weldtite for instance. In fact, asking all my local shops what grade the bearings were just got me blank looks for my troubles. Grade 1000 is great for your furniture casters, but for bikes????

It is reckoned by those in the know that Grade 100 is merely 'adequate' for bike use. Shimano apparently uses Grade 25 in their XT/XTR/Ultegra/Dura-Ace hubs, and Grade 45 elsewhere.

Unfortunatly that information would be lost on 99% of customers as well.

SJS Cycles (to name but one bike shop who knows a bearing grade from their elbow) might beg to disagree with you. ๐Ÿ˜‰
