get 2 med X9's

Don't get long it's pointless unless you want 3 rings

Usual advice as I understand it is long for 3x, medium for 2x and short for 1x.

But some run a short on a 2x, though it depends on your chainrings and cogs, suspension I think too. Short as possible is better for tension to reduce a chain slapping around.

For what it's worth I've got a medium X0 on my 2x10 set up (full sus) and a short X9 on my 1x10 (hard tail).

p.s. you smashed an X0 mech - ouch! *and* you're replacing it with another? ! If I smash mine, I'm getting an X9. £100 cheaper 😀

yer i'm thinking an x9 might be the way to go, i just don't like "down grading" even tho i bet i won't be able to tell anyway!

Medium, plus 1 on the x9 unless you have money to burn.

I looked into this a little while ago; the X9 and X0 are functionally identical, the only difference is the X0 uses more exotic materials for weight reduction. Save your pennies unless saving a few grams is critical for you.
