Anyone else looking out the window and seeing a wet dark ride home.

I'm in need of some motivation.

It's only rain. It's not even cold. It's riding a bike. It's so much better than so many other things 🙂

it was cold and wet in Birmingham last night but I still took a 'scenic' detour along the canals, 20k instead of 5k.

Tonight I'll do the same as I've got an Aldi light to test out.

Clubber +1

Plus (and this may be just me), because it's dark both ways now, I can't actually see how hard it's raining (unless it's truly Pissing down, then I can't see FULL STOP) so in my head it never seems as bad 🙂

It looks tough for my 20m commute, the dog is sleeping across the door to the living room
Best leave early I think

Better to be out there, wishing you in here, rather than unable to get out there.
😉

The alternative is staying at work all night.

Dry in Milton Keynes. Mind you it is only about a 4 minute ride from my office to the station so even if it is raining I am not getting too wet.

I just left my warm, dry flat and went for a 30 mile ride round London. It was excellent. 🙂

11 miles for me which i usually enjoy but as this is now my 19th consecutive day of cycling my legs are telling me it's time to use the car tomorrow. 550 miles in November so far is way more than i'm used to and i'm suffering for it. Today was my slowest commute in ever and i don't think i'll be breaking any records on the way home either.

At least it isn't raining in Brum like it was last night.

Can someone call me at 5:30 tomorrow to shout at me until I get out of bed please.

I've got a 20 mile commute (ew), on a pompino, carrying my laptop, shoes, shirt, towel, shower gel etc, which I have to do as I'm jibbing out of tonights night mtb ride to spend some time with family (been away with work for two days).

Bit foggy in Sussex, but mild and dry. Got a 20 minute FTP interval to do on the way home which I can't really be bothered to do though!

Riding home in the wet I don't mind too much, as you've got home comforts to look forward to at the end of the ride. Getting wet in the morning sucks - or rather putting wet shorts/shoes/socks/gloves back on to get home again does.

Cold in Edinburgh- brilliant, first night in ages I've been able to attack the climb home without being drowned in sweat.

Think yourself lucky to be on a bike instead of in amongst the shitty traffic. Had to do half and half today to drop my car into the garage. Took longer than riding all the way and the traffic was horrendous. Did my head in.
I really think driving is the worst thing I have to do. Absolutely HATE it.

It shames me to say it but I stopped riding to work when the clocks went back as I couldn't face riding back in the dark....(in my defence my route is really twisty Devon lanes with zero visibility at the best of times).

There's a 65 year old guy who works at our place who turned up on his bike today though....

I think I need to MTFU and get some serious lights.

Wasn't a great ride home...dark, wet and man-flu.

but yes...reading other threads I can't complain...9/10 miles through a few parks and around down the barrage in Cardiff home to Penarth is hardly stressful.

i much prefer riding home in the rain, as its a 45min journey, where as it'll be a min 45mins (prob well over an hour) in the car.
I've been forced into the car for the three weeks due to injury and its a pain in the arse...

Better in the dark then - you can see the cars coming.

I quite enjoyed my ride home. 308w for the 20 minute effort, which suggests I'm getting fitter. Happy days.

Can't be bothered to ride into London tomorrow though. Hey ho.

7 miles of the Worcester to Brum canal for me tonight, less people about now, so can chill out without worring about drunks throwing beer bottles at me

I enjoy this time of year, as every day that is not bitterly cold is a real bonus 😉
