Afternoon
I've been to Llandegla a few times, but always ridden the red/black. Does anyone know what the surface is like on the blue, was thinking about taking the nipper round in the trailer?
Cheers
The only sensible answer is for you to ride it yourself the next time you do the red or black and make your own judgement.
We have done it on tandems & I took my youngest when he was 8 on his own bike and both were fine.
Good idea, cheers. I'll leave the wee one in the car and do a quick lap first then. I don't want any of the PC Brigade coming on here telling me a baby can't survive for an hour and a half in a locked car...
Facetious reply aside; what I meant was, is the blue just a shorter version of the red, or is it a more groomed, sanitised surface along the lines of Glentress?
Cheers
With the exception of one little slighty steep hillock near the end where water has eroded a bit of a gully to give a judder at the bottom of it its not much more difficult than a canal towpath. The climb at the start might be a bit of a pain for a nipper.
There was a very smalll child doing the blue last time we were there, must have been five or six. Parents said she'd really enjoyed it, pink bike, handlebar tassles and all.
Might be worth giving them a call at the Centre to check?
I thought this was going to be about cheese.
I thought this was going to be about cheese
๐ Sounds nice that!
She'll be in a trailer so I'll be the only one struggling up the hills.
We saw a family with dad towing a tag-along with one kiddy with the 2nd on a wee ride, in the same group was another tag-along and another wee ride (separate though) so it can't be too bad.
When I was there I saw a family with a 3-4 year old (on one of those really tiny bikes) doing it. We passed him before the red split off from the blue and again where they rejoined near the end. Singlespeed rigid as well!
My son went round it on a BMX. No problem with a trailer or a youngster riding. It's ideal.
Its definitely do-able for a little un.
Gisburn Forest is another place that's ideal to get them started. The blue is perfect. I'm planning a trip up there soon for the youngest to christen her new bike
The climb at the start might be a bit of a pain for a nipper.
I'm a 6'-1" 18st nipper..... ๐ณ
Looks like a fine day for it there Brycey ๐
What's the single wheel trailer then? Never seen one of them.
The Blue is ace... My mrs has just started riding, and its great fun as a taster..
Hit it hard, and you can have a lot of fun on it..
Blue might be a bit narrow in places and possibly bumpy in an undulating way, but shouldn't be a problem as it's all smooth in a non rocky kind of way.
It's my mate's Tout Terrain and it's very smart (expensive). Leans with the bike, 8" damped suspension travel. Twice as much as a Chariot though and they're not exactly cheap.
I did wonder that Don, I'll give it a go though.
Thanks all.
Take my 13m old round it regularly in the trailer and he loves it, smooth enough that he falls asleep sometimes. I'm talking about the old blue though, the new "True Blue" bit always felt a bit narrow and off camber to try. The first hill a real slog though if the ground is damp
Gulp.Twice as much as a Chariot though
For all you folk with child trailers out there I'd say the blue was perfect. Long enough to stretch the legs, short enough that's it's not far back to the car if your little angel throws a wobbler. Track plenty wide and smooth enough.
