I'm after a super light waterproof / wind proof top that will be used solely for summer riding. I've never bought this kind of thing but think it'll be suitable since going to NZ for 6 weeks.

I've never got on well with jackets and riding as I usually get far too hot... anything around for 100ish ?! Or ideally a lot less!

Breathable and waterproof. You will have better luck looking for Unicorn poo.

Its one or the other.

Shower proof / water resistant sorry more emphasis on light and breathable and to be comfortable or more comfortable than soaking in a shower

I ride in this:

Great goretex jacket for £140 !!! Windproof, breathable and 100% waterproof. It is long at the back and arms as well so great for cycling.

I rode home this evening in my OneTen Element. Pissed it down the whole way, my torso was absolutely dry (apart from the sweat) when I got back. It's got underarm vents too. Not exactly breathable, but not bad at all. It was a bargain when I got it too. Zip isn't the best, but hasn't broken (or leaked), arms are long, body a little short, but I'm 5'10" and have a Small, as I'm skinny.

Seen good Montane ones too. Really, really compact.

I have an Endura MTR emergency shell and it's been good. Packs down to nothing and has coped with pretty awful weather.

The Montane single track is good. Packs away small so always have it with me. Their litespeed is more general purpose, bit baggier plus a hood. Great piece of kit too. The minimis is not as packable if that matters but will be more waterproof
